Coaching Policies
It is the policy of Hopkins Park Lacrosse that an adult coach (18 or older) with a valid US Lacrosse Coaches Membership, required volunteer or coaches registration, required background check, and completion of a US Lacrosse Bronze level certification to be in attendance at all practices and games.
If the rostered adult coaches for the team cannot be in attendance at a practice or a game, it is the responsibility of the head coach to:
- Cancel the event
- Reschedule the event
- Solicit other Hopkins Park Lacrosse adult coaches to stand in for them at the event.
Out of respect to parents, players, and other teams, rescheduling or canceling an event should be done with as much advance notice as possible.
In addition, and when a head coach is under the age of 21, Hopkins Park Lacrosse will make a concerted effort to secure one parent coach to assist the head coach for all teams to assist in fulfilling the obligations above.
Any costs incurred by a coach to meet the specified requirements shall be reimbursed by Hopkins Park Lacrosse Association.
Youth coaches under 18 years of age do not qualify to supervise events without an adult coach present.
Hopkins Park Lacrosse is committed to having proper supervision at our practices and games as to insure the safety of our players and spectators.
In addition, insurance coverage for Hopkins Park Lacrosse sponsored events requires this level of supervision.
